Recorded on Stradbroke Island, located an hour from the centre of Brisbane, this edition documents various unusual and unique sound spaces found underwatwer. Using a specially designed stereo hydrophonic set up, English seeks to uncover sounds that are rarely heard. The sound of reeds being blown by gentle winds in the shallows, rock walls pummeled by raising tides and the movement of sand in tidal bays are all documented in a detailed and tactile way. These are recordings that explore an unfamiliar atmosphere - both dense and intricate in nature.

Hydrophonic recordings made january and august 2007, Stradbroke Island, Queensland. Made with special thanks to rebecca and my friends toshiya and werner for the urge and excuse to visit and record.
