'Object is an infrequent but ongoing project..' explains Lawrence English, the man and the musician behind Object. In describing where Object exists musically, Lawrence explains that Object '..sits outside the more textural field recordings and sound artwork realm. This album (is) based on percussion, organ, and other instrumental compositions; the source files of which were lost, so many of the pieces are edited and re-worked from rough mixes of the original pieces: like echoes of the originals, all be it distant ones.'

There¹s definitely a warmth and an enveloping which lingers throughout 'Asobi', and this is prominent over and above any abstraction which exists. As Object, Lawrence English has created the beginning of what may well be a beautiful strain of music which relies as much on familiarity and memory as it does solid musical fact to engage and transport listeners to a place of calm and intrigue.
